About Our Doctor

Dr. Shabbir Hashim grew up in Fremont Ohio and graduated from Ross High School in 1979. He continued college education at Kent State University and continued is undergraduate education at Ohio State University, where he received his bachelor's degree in 1984.He then joined College of Dentistry at OSU for the doctorate program. After receiving his Doctor of Dental Surgery in 1989, he completed two years in post-doctorate training in Advanced General Dentistry Residency at the University Hospitals and College of Dentistry at Ohio State University.

While staying in a private practice environment, Dr. Hashim completed further training in Ambulatory Anesthesia at Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton, OH in 1992. Dr. Hashim also completed a mini-residency program in Implantology at Brookdale Hospital in Brooklyn New York and New York University in 1993.

Dr. Hashim maintains a license in conscious sedation, and always maintains a current status in Advanced Cardiac Life Support.

Dr. Hashim is always seeking continuing education in current technologies and trends, and is a member in the following organizations:

Dr. Hashim has trained with some of the world's most prominent cosmetic dental specialists. He is rapidly becoming known as Toledo's leading cosmetic and rehabilitation dentist for people who want to look younger and feel better about their teeth.

Westgate Dental Arts was established here in the West side of Toledo Ohio in 1993. Here, Dr. Hashim has devoted full-time energy to his private practice. Our practice interests are in General Dentistry and Advanced Rehabilitation of Oral Dentition.

Our Hygienist, Stephanie Schuppenies, R.D.H, graduated from Owens Community College in the Dental Hygiene program in 1997. She has received the Community Service Award and received a first place at the Columbus Table Clinics for research in Bacterial Endocarditis. She manages our preventative program and works diligently to keep the patients on timely continuing care. She provides the non-surgical periodontal therapies and is instrumental in providing education about your dental health.
